WHAT IS LIPOSUCTION?
This is one of the most frequently performed procedures. Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck.
Liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don’t respond to traditional weight-loss methods. It is also a way of re-proportioning the body, for example if you have very pear-shaped figure.
This procedure is performed with a cannulae introduced to the subcutaneous tissue through a small skin incision. Every care is taken to ensure that incisions are made discreetly – therefore any post-operative scars are almost unnoticeable.
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
This procedure is conducted in well equipped operating theatre conditions. It can be performed under general anaesthesia, with the patient totally asleep, or, when specifically requested, with local anaesthesia. The surgery can take from several minutes up to a few hours depending on the volume of fatty tissue to be removed. Usually small incisions (circa 5 mm) are made in skin folds leaving no visible scars.
WHAT ABOUT RECOVERY?
After the procedure patients usually stay in the surgery for a short period of time (usually 24 hours) and can leave the clinic thereafter. Daily check up visits and changing of dressings are required for a few more days. A 3 day stay in Poland post procedure is recommended.
