Oral surgery

Oral surgery

Tooth extraction

WHAT IS IT?

Tooth extraction is an orally-surgical procedure by which the tooth is separated from the tooth alveoli, and removed from it.

HOW IT IS PERFORMED?

It is performed using local anesthesia and is completely painless for patients.

Surgical extraction of teeth

WHAT IS IT?

Surgical extraction of the tooth is an oral surgical procedure that is performed when routine extraction of teeth is not possible.

HOW IT IS PERFORMED?

• The procedure is performed using local anesthesia. The intervention itself is not painful, but it can be uncomfortable and you can feel pressure due to sowing instruments and leverage. Since a surgical incision is performed in this procedure and a mucosal periostal lobe arrives, the tissue needs to be cut after the intervention.

• Surgical ends are removed after 7 to 10 days. For the purpose of faster recovery after intervention, if necessary, you can take antibiotics, corticosteroids or analgesics (in consultation with your dentist from Bel Medic).

Surgical extraction of the wisdom tooth

WHAT IS IT?

Extraction of impacted wisdom is an orally-surgical procedure by which the third permanent molars (wizdoms) are removed from the upper and / or lower jaw.

HOW IT IS PERFORMED?

• Prior to the intervention, it is necessary to do orthopedic – tomography (recording of all teeth of upper and lower jaw). After the dental examination and analysis of the shot, an intervention is scheduled.

Root resection (apicoectomy)

WHAT IS IT?

The tooth root resection (apicoectomy) represents an oral surgical procedure that removes the tip of the tooth root, along with the process (infected tissue) located at its top.

HOW IT IS PERFORMED?

• The intervention is initiated by making the surgical cut and by pulling the muco- periosteal lobe, which shows the surface of the bone at the level of the tooth root at the top of which is the inflammatory process. Gradually, smaller parts of the bone are removed, allowing access to the inflammatory process at the top. With the help of special instruments, the inflammatory process is thoroughly eliminated and it is prevented from re-occurring.

• After that, it is done to shorten the root of the teeth and fill the canal, thus sealing it with a sealant. Charging is most often done through the crown of teeth, in some cases, this must be done over the top of the shortened root of the teeth.

• Since a surgical cut is performed in this procedure and a mucosal departure occurs – the periosteal lobe, the tissue needs to be cut after the intervention. Surgical ends are removed after 7 to 10 days. For the purpose of faster recovery after intervention, if necessary, you can take antibiotics, corticosteroids or analgesics (in consultation with your dentist from Bel Medic).

Ridge leveling

WHAT IS IT?

The leveling of the ridge belongs to the pre-prosthetic surgical procedure where the teethless jowl ridge is raised to the level before lowering, that is, it raises nicely. It is most commonly done for the patients with denture or fixed prosthetic work.

HOW IT IS PERFORMED?

• The intervention is performed in local anesthesia. After the mucosal periosteal lobe is lifted with special instruments, all the abnormalities on the bones, as well as all the sharp bone surfaces that can compromise the future prosthetic work, are bridged.

• After the intervention, cold linings and rest are advised, and the ends are removed for 7 days.

Frenectomy

WHAT IS IT?

Frenulum resection is a routine procedure. It is performed in the case of a high attachment of the frenulum to the gums.

HOW IT IS PERFORMED?

• The intervention is performed in local anesthesia. The intervention itself is performed in order to prevent withdrawal of gums and periodontitis in the area of attachment or as part of pre-prosthetic and orthodontic therapy.

• After the intervention, cold linings and rest are advised, and the ends are removed in 7 days.
